Ross Rigle M10????

"This gun is a bolt action and has "Ross Rigle M10" stamped into it."

That's the only info my buddy gave me of a bolt action rifle he inherited from his grandfather. can anyone give me a run down on this? Era, Manufaturer, Platform, ETC...

just now reading "A rifleman goes to war"....it mentions a Ross rifle which is a WW1 era bolt action infantry rifle.....Canadian.

If it is a Ross, it is a straight pull, not a turnbolt. Back when wars were fought from trenches, it was thought the straight pull offered a speed advantage - however, there were some cases of the Ross blowing the bolt back into the shooters face.

Depending on condition, etc., it could be worth something to a collector.
