Just curious how many rounds guys typically go through on a day at the range with a precision rifle? I probably average around 80 to a 100 give or take.
My averages is usually around 50 rounds per rifle. Normally there are three or four rifles with me plus an AR. AR is for when the bolt guns are cooling.
80-120 depending on the caliber and what’s going on. Is it hot as crap and I’m just there to play or is it a nice day and I want to work on something specific. It just all depends. If it’s the 5.56 SPR the rounds flow. Way too fast. That’s more like 200-250.
Boy. One can burn up rounds with a gas gun with no recoil.
I average about a 50 round box a day. Live on an acreage in the middle of no where with 100 yard range off my deck and 900 yard range a 1/4 mile down the road. At least 3 days a week I switch it up and throw in some pistol. When the weather is shitty I dry fire as much as I can off barricades and run mag change drills on pistol. I try and shoot the 20 inch ar as much as I can to practice wind reading but after a while I get bored and want to smack steal with something heavier
ive tried to cut my round count back in the center fire to try and increase barrel life a little so ive only been shooting 10-20 rounds at each practice session and then running 200 or so through the vudoo.
I get limited time to actually shoot. Ill stop at the range on the way home from work. I end up shooting fewer rounds but may go two or three times a week.
A typical week would be two one hour sessions of 20 rounds each.
Depends on the purpose of each trip.
Could be anywhere from 20 - 200. Some days are strictly load development, others for fine tuning scope and others to shoot different firearms that have not been out recently. Also, how much time I have budgeted that day for shooting.
