RRA lar-8 .308 26" accuracy???

Re: RRA lar-8 .308 26" accuracy???

Very accurate rifle. I'm a novice, and I'm getting sub .5 MOA with GMM 168. Even tighter with 175 gr. match ammo. I shoot it better than my 700 PS. That has a 26" barrel also.

Don't have the 26" but I do have the 22" standard with the free float tube. After running a Tubbs fire lapping kit through it it consistently shoots .50" 5 shot groups with 175gr and RL 15 44.5gr
Rock River builds a real decent rifle

This is from my LAR-8 Varmint (26" barrel). I would like to try the new 20" barrel Varmint. Anyone have one of those?

Many Thanks to all you powder sniffers that replied.

My remmy 700 24" shoots .5moa and less with 168gr SMK(moly) with 43gr of TAC and same results with 175gr SMK(moly) with 43.5 of RL-15 (CCI BR). I can switch these two powders in and out at approx same gr wts, I just cant achieve same velocity for the 175,s.

I do have a 24" BBF 1:8 tr DPMS .223R AR platform. I shoot 77gr SMK(moly) with 24.2gr of TAC (REM BR). This rifle stacks and stacks.

Yes, all you haters, I love moly!!! Any feedback on that?

Thanks again for the feedback, I'm really interested in this rifle.

Here's my most recent target. I shot this while verifying a load I had worked up. Looks like this one will work well, I just need to test it at longer ranges now.

This is a 10 shot group at 100 yard with a RRA LAR-8 Varmint 26": (this group includes the 1st cold, clean bore shot. Or as some like to say, cold shooter shot)

I got too excited and the last 2 shots are the upper most and bottom most shots, otherwise this group would have been a lot smaller. But it's still 1/2" group. Not bad for 10 shots out of a semi-auto.
