RRA operator stock

Re: RRA operator stock

When looking at the butt plate you will see 2 screws, one holds the sling attachment on and the other holds the stock to the lower receiver extension tube. Remove the screw and slide the stock off. The extension is screwed into the lower receiver, it can be removed with an adjustable wrench, it has standard right hand threads, When you start to remove the "tube" it will release the buffer detent and spring. The rest is self explanatory. Also the rear takedown pin detent is loose when you remove the stock.

Re: RRA operator stock

rock river loves red lock tite odds are they put it on the extension tube threads as well . I know this may sound retarded but make sure you have the buffer and spring out first then take a propane torch and heat the tube up. dont put the heat in one place keep it moving and dont get to close . 400 degrees will turn the red stuff to dust and it should come out.

Re: RRA operator stock

Well I didn't do that. I have a Colt lower. This extension tube was factory installed 20 years ago. I ordered the "A-2 Operator" stock from RRAs. It came with theirs(Extension tube) and a new buffer spring assembly. Upon realizing that they were both the same size and that a 12' crescent wasn't getting it ! I installed the new stock over the Colt ET it fit perfectly. So Its a done deal.
