Can anyone provide some insight on this tripod, what they like and dislike about it. I was really wanting to keep to a $500 budget and looked pretty hard at the two vets no name (haven’t completely ruled it out) but the RRS keeps catching my eye. I tried the RT90c and didn’t like the weight and tried the two vets QDT and it was just too big folded. Looking for sturdy, compact, and light weight but at the price point their is going to be a compromise somewhere with some part of that equation. Strictly hunting, not doing any PRS type shooting if that matters

I have the RRS 22i with an anvil30 head. Took it hunting this last weekend for an Ibex and it was horrible. The size sucks for hiking up a mountain side. I would recommend getting the no name jr. from two vets. That will be my new hunting tripod were the 22i will be for PRS gaming lol

I’m not really sure if that’s what I wanted to hear or not lol. Was it packed length, or width or what didn’t you like about carrying it?

It’s pretty tall folded up, it’s light and definitely a well built tripod. However if you are looking for something compact the 22i isn’t it. It’s a rough measurement but the 22i with the leveling base was at 40.5 inches folded up. The other tripod was just for size comparison

Mostly just how long it was packed up. Its longer then my pack and is just hard to really pack up the side of a mountain, would be much better for some antelope hunting where you don't have to hike as much or at all. I really like the tripod, just would not take it hunting again. Its awesome for PRS, except the twist locks are backwards( left twist is lock, right twist action is unlock, maybe due to them just "flipping" the leg on the tripod. Once you forget that right is tight and left is loose, its the perfect PRS tripod.

That might not be a deal breaker. The length I don’t think would bother me, I hunt at night and generally my tripod stays extended from the first stand to the last. What tripod do you have next to it? I should be more specific about the compact, I like that the legs are almost touching. The RT90c and QDT I tried both had pretty big bowls so even folded they took up some room. Thanks for the pictures, it’s hard to visualize with the stock ones on the website

Thanks for the info. I need to do a little more reading to figure out their model designations. Two vets is still appealing but I like how tight the RRS folds up

Ended up with the TFC-33 and I’m definitely glad I went with the 3 section. Got it out Last night and wow, what an improvement over the slik 700 I was using
