RRS Vs Fatboy Vs Two Vets Tripods

I am looking to get a tripod for hunting and long-range shooting. All three companies are within my budget, but I would obviously rather spend $750 vs $1500 if I can still get a really good tripod. I have only looked into RRS tripods but have heard good things about the other two companies. When hunting I won't be walking more than a few hundred yards and I am looking to get a very stable tripod, so a tripod that is a little on the heavier side won't bug me. I have been looking at the series 3 models from RRS for stability, not weight, since I down have any magnum rifles. I am 6'4" so if I went to RRS I would get the TFCT-34L. Any insights on these three companies and which models to get from them would be appreciated.

I have had all 3, if I was primarily using it for hunting, the RRS 34 would be my choice. If I was using it for rear support in PRS, the Fat boy would get the nod. All my buddies carry the FB to matches and I carry my RRS 34 because of the flexibility of heights for a TAC table. I am tall like you and appreciate the extra height. The RRS Anvil ball head is my choice no matter what tripod.

Are you going to glass off of it? If so and you're using an angled spotter the 34 should work fine. If you are going to use binoculars or a straight spotter you will want the 34L. I'm 6'2" and need the L for my straight spotter, my hunting partner uses a regular 34 with his angled spotter.

I have the Ascend, the 22i, a colorado tripod company tripod, a gitzo tripod and a two vet's tripod.

If size & weight are a concern and you are willing to spend the money, just go with RRS. The fact that you'll probably be using the RRS as a standard to compare against speaks volumes of the quality. For how small the ascend is, it's super stable. Weight may or may not be a contributing factor to stability. *cough*olderleofoto*cough*
