The base sells for about $40, and the rings are $40, plus $15 for the pos. align inserts. The RT base will need rings, and I already have a 2 piece base on the MK2 now. I worry about the bases being off-center from the factory, and want to get the scope mounted correctly because I want to actually use the knobs on the scope. The rings, with the insert set, will get me 0-30 MOA of cant.

If it's the OEM two piece Weaver type bases, then ditch them. Get the RT or EGW picatinny rail with the 20/25moa cant. The OEM bases will not accept picatinny rail spec rings but will take the Burris Zee rings.

Burris Posilign rings here, with a -.020 insert fore, and +.020 insert aft.

This increased my available erector travel from 7 mils to 17 mils.

Scope is Bushnell 3200 10X mil/mil. Base is TPS 0-MOA.

BUffy, what is wrong with the regular rings? </div></div>

I use the same picatinny rings on my 22lr that I use on my CF rifles. The OEM Weaver spec bases won't allow that and they are very soft.

Compared to the EGW and RT One-piece Picatinny Rails, the OEM bases suck. Trust me. Between the EGW and RT, six of one, half dozen of the other..... pretty comparable. If forced, I would say the RT has a slight edge since the cross slots go full width.

The -20 is thinner and lowers the scope, the +20 is thicker and raises the scope. Together they give about 10 mil or 35 moa forward slope.

I'm not familiar with 20 moa rings.

Montana, are the inserts the same? Do I need two +20moa inserts, or one -20MOA insert and one +20moa insert? in other words, can the inserts be used upside down? My English is going down the drain.

I saw this
0.20" but nothing about a -0.20"

Re: RT 25MOA base, or Burris Sig. Zee ring

Burris recommends using the -20 top with the +20 bottom.

What I did, since i had a set of 5s, 10s, and 20s, was this,

In the front ring, I put the -20 in the bottom, and a +10 in the top. In the rear ring, I put a +20 in the bottom, and a -10 in the top.

I guess ideally I should have two sets of 20s, and have a -20 and a +20 opposite each other , but my way seems to work without any issue.

I had bought the kit with the three sets of inserts (5, 10,20s), but you can also buy individual sets in 5, 10, or 20.

Re: RT 25MOA base, or Burris Sig. Zee ring

that is what I was thinking about, but was looking at both 10s in front and both 20s in back. I guess I can do a base and rings, and have 55 MOA. Then I could shoot how far, 600,800 yards?

Don't want to rain on your parade, but 55moa up from a 50 yard zero will put you in the 300 yard range (depending) with .22Long Rifle.

Re: RT 25MOA base, or Burris Sig. Zee ring

my suggestion is go for the base:

1. stiffens up the receiver slightly
2. able to make more eye relief adjustments and / or get those knobs in the swwet spot.
3. always have the option of using removeable rings / optic.
4. raises up the height of mounting surface if you ever want to mount an oversized obj lens optic.
5. more rail space available if you want to mount ACI or cosine indicator

and of course, looks pretty tacticool.

The scope will have 140 MOA. I don't think that Burris makes 35mm Zee rings. Totally forgot about this thread, but recently learned that DIP can make custom bases to more than 25 MOA. Now that the scope is purchased I guess I just need to figure out how much base to put under it.
