Hey guys this months VHP magazine does a big analysis of this brass and concludes its made by RUAG in Thun Switzerland and being sold by Grafs as “Norma” loose packaged in an MTM 50 cal ammo can for $115/100 cases. I got 200 today and can confirm that cosmetically it is indistinguishable from my RUAG/RWS brass which is usually $5 a case if you can even find it. This may be the biggest find for me in years. Last I checked they had 1500 of them left.
From my FB post: “Hey HTI 50 BMG shooters - according to VHP (Very High Power), the magazine of the 50 cal shooter's association, Grafs got a one-time delivery of some "Norma" 50 BMG brass. Norma makes that? Probably not. The article goes through an analysis, but these are the nuts and bolts: the headstamp says 50 BROWNING (rather than 50 BMG, strongly suggesting it was made Europe, as that is how it's referred to there) and has a "T" above it. That probably stands for Thun in Switzerland (home of my ancestors), where there is a RUAG/RWS plant. VHP measured the internal case capacity of some of these cases in grains alcohol and they were the second most consistent they have ever measured. All this, and external cosmetics, suggests that this brass is RWS/RUAG 50 BMG brass, and Grafs has it for $115/100 pieces in an MTM ammo can. I ordered 200 cases. At that price you can't go wrong, and you are very likely getting a $5 RWS/RUAG case for $1.15. You're welcome.”
