I recently bought a Ruger 10/22 TD rifle.
It comes with a nice carry bag and shoots well. I have had no failures with it with about 1K rounds shot so far.
I really like it.
Have any of you had any experience with them and if so what do you think of them? Regards, FM

Re: Ruger 10/22 take down rifle

My son has a 10/22 rifle that has quite a few rounds through it that we were shooting along with a friend that has one about 3 years old with far fewer rounds fired. The take down grouped better than both of them at 50 yds. All are iron sighted.
All I have shot so far is Fed. bulk and some old T-22. The T-22 shot best.
I want to change the rear sight then run several kinds of ammo to determine what it likes best but haven't gotten it done yet. So far I am impressed with the accuracy but don't think I have done enough yet to really say just exactly what it will do.
I will post back when I do.
When I started this thread I didn't realize there was already a thread on here about them. That will teach me to look farther before I start something. Regards, FM

I'd like to wait until they offer a threaded version or a barrel mfg comes out with a threaded barrel.

On my standard 10/22 I chopped the front and had it threaded. It worked ok but it was more expensive then a factory option.

Re: Ruger 10/22 take down rifle

My Squaw and I, AKA Panty 6+, went out and shot this today.
It went well for a while and then did not want to pick up Fed. bulk,[ the only thing I had.]
It had worked fine for about 45 rds. then something happened and it was FTF a few times.
I brought it home and did field mtce. and got a new magazine and started looking around for other ammo Got it done and now have 5 kinds of ammo for the AM.
It worked fine for a while and as with any kind of new machinery, now wants cleaned and an oil change I guess.
I kind of wonder if something got in the mag and caused problems but don;t know. Worked fine for a while and I really like shooting it as does the squaw. Will know tomorrow AM. Regards, FM
