Ruger Mark III & Aimpoint Micro

Anybody tried an Aimpoint Micro on a Ruger Mark III. Just for something different I'm thinking about pulling my H-1 off the AR and putting it on my Ruger. Considering Aimpoint's dedicated mount (http://www.opticsplanet.net/aimpoint-ruger-mark-iii-mount-for-microsight-black-silver.html). Reviews are mixed. Seems like there are complaints on how it installs. Looking for first hand experience.

I got a great deal on a R-1 (the silver model) since they appear to not be making them anymore.
My R-1 came with the Ruger Mark III mount and the standard mount.

I wish I had experience with others to compare.

Pros: great battery life
extremely durable for an optic.
light weight
Does sit fairly close to the bore compared to some.
Cons: Does seem to obscure more vision than say a c-more or fastfire.

Sorry I couldn't offer more of a comparison.

Don't worry about the install.
If you're careful you can install it without scratching anything. A little tape will help.
I needed to locktite the screws, it came loose after a few hundred rounds.

That's sort of a nice sight to throw on top of a .22. I just picked up one of the little Bushnells for my MKII.

Agreed. The Micro was on a an AR that I recently topped with a Leupold. Having the $500 micro sitting around unused was killing me. After I play with it on the Mark III for a while it will inevitably find it's way onto another AR.

+1 on the Aimpoint micro. Its on mine after I sold an ar. But its about to come off and go on another AR. Just to expensive to sit on a markIII.
