Lilja is coming out with one very soon. Already up on their site and I think you can order them. Question guys, how many of you think the ruger precision is Lilja worthy? If a guy were buying a new rig...64mpr, cz 455/Lilja/chassis or pro varmint, or ruger precision Lilja combo.

Thanks

As nobody else has replied I will give my thoughts on this after having the RPR(rimfire) for just over three weeks. For me the angle of worthy or value to the option may be different due to circumstances I got the rifle. I was given this rifle as a gift from my girlfriend and her kids as a fathers day gift, to some this may send you running for the hills but for me it was very special that they found out that I had interest in it and purchased it for me for fathers day. This means I expect to keep this rifle forever.

Honestly the rifle has a lot to like, the adjustable LOP/Cheek, the chassis design (industry standard AR grip and basic AR style safety), the over-sized bolt knob/threaded bolt handle, 30 MOA optic rail, and the trigger is very good for a factory stock rimfire trigger. The only thing that is really lacking is the accuracy. In my case the rifle is worth the investment and is worthy of the Lilja barrel once they are available and accuracy reports are in on the barrel.
For what it is worth I have had confirmation that Feddersen will be producing a replacement barrel for the RPR, I am waiting on his barrel as my experience with the Feddersen barrels in 10/22's is amazing.

If you haven't handled or shot one of the RPR's I would suggest checking them out, the trigger on mine with a bit of polishing, lube, shims and spring replacements turned out to be a very nice trigger (no trigger gauge available to measure pull weight, but it is very comfortable and similar pull weight to a couple of 1.5# triggers I have.)

With all of that said, I am curious about long-term reports regarding magazine and feeding/extraction issues. I am currently using TandemKross magazine bodies as they fit tight and hold everything were it needs to be, the BX15 out of the box fed fine but would not strip the last round out of the mag. I did not use that mag more than a couple of times and could see it loosening up and beginning to fail to feed with the bullet nose diving as others have reported.

The RPR seems to be selling very well so it's probably only a matter of time before there are over the counter barrels on the market. The ergonomics of the rifle are very good IMO.

Regarding the trigger, mine is stock and consistently delivers 1.9 lbs though it has a some predictable creep in it. My Ruger American Target in .17HMR trigger with polishing and a spring change is at 1.5 lbs. I believe Timney now has a trigger out for the RPRimfire.

I had ejection issues which was resolved by reprofiling and sharpening the OEM extractor hook. They will ship you a new extractor and spring no charge.

There has been some magazine fitment issues related to the composite chassis and customer serviced mentioned there is a new chassis. I know of one person who has receive one. I'm going to try and get one for my gun as the mag is looser than it should be and my be effecting accuracy due to a slight shaving of the bullet going into battery.

Downside is Ruger is obviously having hit or miss quality control issues, but they are taking care of customers, regretfully it usually involves shipping the gun back to them which is a PITA.

I have a gunsmith ready to make a .17 Mach2 barrel from a Green Mountain blank for my RPRimfire. I've also spoken with Green Mountain about producing a barrel as Anschutz is building a .17 Mach2 test rifle for CCI recently and Volquartsen is also planning on producing their Summit Rifle in Mach 2. Hopefully the underrated round makes a comeback.

For small varmint control the Mach 2 is a very effective laser accurate flat shooting round from 50-125 yds. After a shooting a 1,000 rounds of .22LR with my gun I'm very satisfied with the platform. I just need a more potent flatter shooting round for digger squirrel eradication.

Seems Lilja can be picky when it comes to .22, just saw a thread on another major rimfire site talking about how disappointed people were with theirs and it was on czs and 10/22s, ymmv.

Feddersen makes incredible barrels and I saw green mountain is offering prefits with a 1-15 twist in three different lengths. I'll probably pick up a feddersen if he offers a 1/15 too if not ill grab a green mountain at 20" probably

Green mountain is releasing a barrel for the rprr as well. Around 160$

Couple of things to note here for informational purpose to others.

Sieg comment that Timney has an RPR(rimfire) trigger released/being released. I have received communication from them that they have the rimfire triggers going to some beta testers now or very soon. Sieg also has commented in a thread over on RimfireCentral with some good images and a basic how-to on cleaning up the extractor and correcting extraction issues. Thank you for that.

Green Mountain told me that they are taking pre-orders for barrels via phone and they expect the barrels any time as they were told early July. Good luck, hope some of this info can help others.

Any word on Feddersen barrels lately?

Btw anyone ever recontour a .22lr barrel?

Been considering having a barre turned down to save weight for my kids.
