So I just commited to my friend FFL, that ill take the on in his shop.

So all I hear and read about the rifle that it is WELLLL suited to my type of shooting fancies. Ive read all the reviews in can.

One prevailing question remains to be answered, WHAT kind of 5 shot groups are these things producing.... In all my question will be answered Wed.

If ANY of you good gents have the idea of what the accuracy is on average Id love to hear it. I know its not my FN SPRA1 with factory test targett of .26".

Thanks, Sgt Snodgrass.

Re: Ruger Scout ???

We have had a few come through our shop and I cant speak for the accuracy but I really do like the rifle. I think they did a nice job with it. I dont think ill be buying one but I think Im going to be building something similar to it in the near future.

I'll let you know in the next week or so.

Re: Ruger Scout ???

I got the chance to handle one in the local gun shop. It seemed like a nice rifle but the magazine was not very solid and wobbled around quite a bit while it was seated in the magwell. Is this common with this rifle or was it just an anomaly with the one I handled?

I found the same with the couple that we got in the shop. If you put an real ai mag in there it doesn't do that wiggle dance in the mag well.

Re: Ruger Scout ???

Unfortunately for the RGSR, the cost outweighs the product. One gripe I have is the components. The rifle seemed very "hurried" when designed and I wasn't impressed. But I can say that it was accurate and dependable. No malfunctions of any kind.

Re: Ruger Scout ???

I got hold of one for a pretty good price. I am happy with it so far. I cant wait to run it for deer season; it is very handy. Havent shot many groups, but I did do a couple the first time I took it out.

I had some rounds loaded for my gas gun with me, so I shot it with those and got about 1.5 inch at 100 yards. Shot them pretty cleanly, but probably could have been a bit better. I do not see why it wouldnt shoot pretty well with some cartridges loaded specifically for it.

Re: Ruger Scout ???

Sorry it took so long to get the time to shoot this wonderfull, compact rifle. Just a quick props out to Michael at CCA. He glass bedded my new Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle and installed a third sling swivel. I finally got to shoot it in last week, with it's XS Sights extend scout rail and Trijicon 1.24-4x scope in Leupold QRW rings.

After thirty break in shots & zero shots, I fired two five shot groups, both well under .35 moa at 100 yards, with Federal Premium 165 Gamekings and Federal Gold Medal Match 168gr. Not bad for a knock about, low cost and mass produced rifle.

Glad I waitied for the XS mount, it works well with the Trijicon Scope

Jeff: I love your quote about thinking! Anyone who has a Ruger that cannot shoot, send it to me for disposal...

Re: Ruger Scout ???

Cap'n Dave, the Rugers always seem to get the short ride. I have always been a little biased towards them. Funny thing, I don't own any though! Dennis Olson in Plains and Dan Lilja might have a hard time believing the naysayers. Dennis uses Ruger actions to make some darn nice rifles.
I thought my signature was just a natural extension of logic. I did see, on a news sight somewhere, the same thing from a poster, but saying "Liberal". I found that quite hilarious!

My Ruger 25-06 shoots well under sub MOA (personal best of .375in @200yds) its all factory. And it looks like mine isn't the only one, I do recognize though that this is not necessarily the rule.
