Russian lawmaker Sergey Mironov offered to help Texas get independence from the United States in a social media post on Saturday. On Saturday, Mironov, the leader of faction A Just Russia—For Truth in the Russian legislature, wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "In the conflict between Texas and the United States, I am on the side of the state. At least Texas does not interfere in the affairs of other countries. If necessary, we are ready to help with the independence referendum. And of course, we will recognize the People's Republic of Texas if there is one. Good luck! We're with you!" -Newsweek

Well, they do know a thing or two about building effective borders...

if the confederacy had won the CW, so many things would be different.

a weaker federal government and decentralized states would have meant, just in Europe, no US interference in WW1, therefore a negotiated peace around 1916. no death of western civilization. no Bolshevik revolution. no Versailles. no Hitler. the implications are enormous.

here it would have completely changed our entire march toward federal totalitarianism.

But but but it was about slavery not states rights and a limited federal government.

Many of us have tried to dispel all the B/S slavery lies, that were taught in school via history books that were wrote by the victor to train the mind of the none thinking. Lincolns actions back then is the,... root reason,... this country is so far from the vision the founders had. Most do not what to believe simple facts. Then again that old saying jumps to the forefront.
Easier to fool a man than it is to make him understand he was the fool, being fooled.
