S&B scope for G28

Hey all, I’m looking to pick up a S&B RAL8000 scope for a G28 clone project that’s finally finished. The closest one I see available to the HK licensed version is: https://www.eurooptic.com/schmidt-bender-pmii-3-20x50-l-p-h2cmr-mrad-locking-mtc-ccw-ral8000.aspx

The turrets are very tall however and would interfere with the Aimpoint mounted on the scope mount. Is there another model readily available or is it possible to buy the lower profile turrets and change them out?

The turrets are fine to mount an aimpoint on it you are using a sphur mount


But yes you can have SB change the turrets. You are probably better off going with a newer 320 US with dtii+ turrets

Thanks for the input. I did see the Ultra Short which is definitely an option. But it does look like I can get the turrets from the Ultra Short as you said Husky and change out the tall ones so I may go that route.

The only thing that’s changed since 2015 is that I no longer have an RDS mounted on it. The rifle is too heavy and bulky to use for general purpose run-n-gun and the 3x is low enough for inside of 100m. I now have a 16” 6mm Creedmoor AR10 with 2.9-20x with canted T-1 I use for general purpose large frame AR shooting.
Edit: I tend to think if the Bundeswehr was writing the G28 requirements teoday, it would include a scope like the 3-20x Ultra Short. Back in 2012 the 3-20x PM II was new and still they required a unique low turret from S&B purely to meet the need for mounting an RDS.

Your setup with the Ultra Short looks pretty slick! And yes very true, undoubtedly the Ultra Short would be used today as you stated.

I wanted to stay true to the original design even though the Ultra Short is the more modern optic, but I just found out the turrets on the PMII can not be changed out for any lower profile version, so I’m just about to rule it out. It would completely render the RDS useless on the EraTac mount without a bunch of spacers.

And the US looks right at home on the G28 seeing it on your gun anyhow. Thanks for the links and pics!
