Is anyone running the S3 6x36 on their hunting or crossover rifle ? I've never used a tree type reticle before so was wondering if it covers up to much detail for hunting purposes. Also how does the S3 compare to the S&B 6x36 if anyone has used both

I've had both, the Zeiss S3 compares very favorably to the Schmidt 6-36. Regarding the reticle, everyone is different with what is acceptable or not, I would say the Zeiss tree reticle is busy but not terrible; however, the only way to know for sure is for you to see it for yourself in the environment that you will find yourself in. As long as you don't mount the scope, most Hide dealers will allow you to return the scope within 15 days if you decide the reticle is not for you.
