My Sako 85 Stainless came with quick detach sling hardware. Thinking about removing the posts from the stock. Does anyone know if these are screw outs or does one have to pull the barrel/receiver off the stock because of a nut inside on the front one? If they are screw outs how well do they line up if screwed back in a number of times?

My sako 75 just has screw outs. No nut but even if there is a nut you just unscrew it since it is a machine screw,. I think they line up fine if you it a few times. No issues. Just use a swivel or thin screw driver to back them right out.

Hey, thanks. Likely once I get them out they will lay in repose in the original box the rifle came in. Use of the rifle will be benchrest mostly.
