Sako Quad trainer

Hi all, I have just recieved a McMillan HTG stock for my Sako Quad. I notice that the HTG has no slot to use the bedding block out of the standard Sako stock. Does the HTG need to have the block fitted or just a good bedding job, or both? What do the Manners stocks have?
