Still reviewing various options re build vs buy. I read that the TRG stock is friendly to left hand shooters. I am left eye dominant and shoot rifles left handed - actually have a Sako 75 in 270 that's a left hand configuration I use on hunts. Curious to hear from those left hand shooters that own a TRG re their experiences with the RH bolt configuration. Looking at the TRG 22 for target, steel plates and maybe an occasional hunt. Thoughts?

Can't say that I have any real issues with it. The controls are all ambidextrous (except the bolt release, not that it matters). The stock is ambidextrous as well, so no issues there. I run the bolt with my left hand over the action when firing unsupported, and use my right hand when firing prone or from a bench. You'll find it works just fine for you.

+1 This is what I have done as well. I've gotten so used to shooting this way it's kinda difficult going back to a left handed action! No worries for a lefty shooting a TRG - very comfortable stock and a great trigger.

Thanks for the replies so far. I was thinking this might be a good option for me. I like the fact that the controls are ambi and with two right handed sons this might be the way to go. Of course with a left handed bolt I would not have to be sharing any of my shooting time :)

I hate to hijack the thread with a question about a different brand firearm - but my question is along the same lines. I am looking at something a bit less pricey than the Sako TRG-22 - an FNH SPR A1, or possibly one of the other FNH .308s (A3G, or A5M)...

Have any of you lefties shot those? I am under the impression that the McMillan stocks on those guns are cut for right and left-handed shooters like the Sako. Is this correct? Also - what about the adjustable cheek piece on the FNH guns (A5M, and others)? Can you just put the screws through from the other side?

I shoot left-handed, but I want to get a right-handed action.

Many thanks for any info you can provide.
