Suppressors SAS Arbiter In Hand!!!

After almost 6 months of waiting I was finally able to bring my Arbiter home and place it on the end of my TRG where it belongs....

Can't wait to get it to the range!

About to overwhelm you with questions....

1) Is this the TI version?

2) How does the TOMB mount lock up before and during shooting?

3) You go through mile high? If you did how long did it take to get to your ffl/class III dealer?

4) Any video or comparison to other cans you have or may have heard? Any POI shift, id so to what extent and is it repeatable?

I know you just got it and probably don't have the answers but I wanted to post those questions for you to answer as they come. Congrats, I know you are pumped! Im looking hard at the SAS Arbiter TI. It suppresses VERY well, btter then several other high end cans I've heard. The DB may not be any better or worse then most cans but it definately sounds more quiet then most cans Ive heard, those cans being Surefire,AAC,TSW, and Gemtech.

Not the OP but I've also got a SAS Arbiter:
1. I've got the TI version (TOMB)
2. It locks up very well and haven't had an issue with it loosening during shooting
3. My dealer went thru Mile High. It took about 45 days for the Form 3.
4. I don't have video but it's a quiet can. I have a little shift (on a GAP-10 6mmCM) but it's repeatable and I pretty much only shoot suppressed. My shift was down and slightly left.

I've got a TBAC 30P1, Surefire 762K, Surefire 762RC, AAC 762SDN & a handful of others. I've also been fortunate to be able to use a lot of other suppressors in testing high round counts / conditions. I really like the Arbiter. It's very light, suppression is good, shift is repeatable (I would go with the TOMB mount vs their true QD mount). I haven't had any pressure issues on my GAP (but they also build a great rifle but I didn't have them put a switchblock on it). All the cans I mentioned I like as well. The TBAC is a hell of a can as well as the SF 762RC. The Arbiter is a little lighter than the TBAC.

All this considered, I'd probably go with the TBAC over the SAS simply due to the customer service. I can call the manufacturer and get someone on the phone who can make a decision, answer questions, fix a problem, etc... I (or my dealer) can't contact SAS for help and have to go thru Mile High. They're great but not being able to talk to the manufacturer is less than ideal.

We did a little "side by side" comparison at TVP with a Shark and the Arbiter. Both were shot on 308's back to back. We could tell no difference in tone or suppression.

Congrats! I picked mine up from Mile High a week or so ago. Been traveling since, so I haven't been able to get it to the range yet. I'll post up results as soon as I do.

IMHO it's hard to beat the Arbiter TI because of cost, unless you got in on the TBAC group buy.

The total price for the Arbiter TI, mount, and TABcover is still cheaper the the TBAC 30ba alone. The Arbiter doesn't do anything better or worse then the TBAC (well it may be a hair more quiet, or it could just have a different tone that makes it sound more quiet, at least from my experience with both cans) but the cost difference basically pays for your stamp. Don't get me wrong TBAC's are awesome and so are the guys that run it, but someone looking for a more cost efficient can that doesn't give anything up to the TBAC, the Arbiter TI is it. Who knows though, my opinion is based on what I've heard and not actually owning either for an extended period of time.

I don't mind that the owner of SAS is hard to reach, reason being is that lets me know he's in the shop working and getting stuff done instead of getting phone calls every 5 minutes. My opinion more companies should do this but if they do their QC better be on point. I've heard the owner of SAS is a great guy and very helpful so I think I'll take a chance on SAS.

I did get my Arbiter through Mile High and they were outstanding to work with. Transfer to my dealer was quick as they had the Arbiter in stock.

The T.O.M.B mount locks up nicely and though I have not had a chance to take it to the range for firing. I will give a range report when I do.

My brother just picked up a THunder Beast so I will also try and do a comparison on the two as well.

I respect both manufacturers for their ability to build a quality suppressor. But if we are going to talk cost to performance ratio.... the Templar Tactical Archangel can't even be touched right now. It has minimal shift, keeps the groups tight, and it was a $600.00 Ti can!

I am still within a week or two of being able to try out the Mack Bros MB300 suppressor. It to is supposed to be less money, lower DB, and just as accurate as the TBAC. We shall see!

I kick myself daily for not getting in on that group buy. I was just hesitant due to not knowing a whole lot about TTF. I really want to hear the Mack Bros can, I hear its really quiet. I wish they had more videos and a website to play around on.

It's not George getting them in. It would boil down to how fast can Mack get them built and how long will it take to transfer the can to GAP.
Then you have to go from GAP to your local C3 dealer. It's a length process but I would just call GAP and ask to put half down on the next group that comes in.
The wait should not have anything to do with it, you either want it or don't. Im fairly sure George is about the only one selling that model suppressor. Why keep waiting to find one when you can bite the bullet now, reserve one and let the process start NOW instead of 3-6 months from now. All that time you spent waiting to find one is time you can wait on your Form 4! Get on it!

Cost is a big factor for me, not being able to afford more than one decent precision rifle. (and $3k glass is a pipe-dream for me) With the Hide discount from Mile High etc., I was able to get a Ti Arbiter and the stamp for under $1k tax included. It's also a high quality and well made piece of gear. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I've had my TI Arbiter with the TOMB mount for a long time now. No Complaints here, as well as no shift on my .308. I haven't checked on my .233 yet but it worked quiet well on that too. I don't even bother shooting without the suppressor on my .308 anymore though.

Well, I was finally able to hit the range with my Arbiter and it was awesome! I had no point of impact shift using 168SMK through my TRG-22 and I was impressed by how quiet the shots were. There were no issues with the suppressor coming loose from the TOMB mount either. I am still trying to coordinate logistics with my brother to get the Arbiter and TBAC together. Does anyone have info on how to post video on here?

Well I am the brother and we will definitely get it going on that comparison. Have used my 30p-1 on my 7rm and on two different 308's I own. Minimal shift and what is even better to me is the amount of recoil reduction you receive. I am already spoiled on no hearing protection but it is nice to pump out 20rds of 7rm and have it recoil better than a 308. I had always wondered if the benefits were worth it before I bought it. Now I know!

I have the Arbiter with QD setup on my GAP-10 and Noveske 300blk SBR. Works great on both POI is repeatable, accuracy is there and does not loosen up with use. I picked up an Archangel in the group buy but have not submitted the form1 yet. Hope you like yours Bro, I am a happy camper here.

Great can for the money and super light. I have a direct thread model. I have yet to do any real testing, but its nice having a can rated for my 300 WM!

I have shot 30p's and the reaper (arbiter's little brother), and both are great. POI shift... What shift? You cant go wrong with either. I do think the sas tomb mount looks better

I need to start charging you a license fee for every time you mention this anecdote about my can.

I'm pretty happy with my SAS can. It does look like Tim has slightly improved the fit/finish in the newer ones I saw at SHOT and I hear they've addressed the issue of metal shavings in the cans.
