ARIZONA TERRITORY, 1867
Following the brutal murder of their father, a hardworking prospector, by hired thugs from a vicious land baron seeking to reclaim the old man's estate so a proper industrial scale gold operation could be built, brothers Jesse and Jake Struthers set out to get revenge. The land that was being seized was located on Lipan Apache territory, who were friendly to the Anglo and Texan settlers who had relocated there after the Civil War, so the brothers along with a ragtag posse of hard riding and hard fighting roughnecks appealed to the tribe for their alliance in the coming fight. Jesse Struthers was a rugged outdoorsman, forged in pines, desert, and prairie since boyhood and who could outmatch even the toughest desperados with gun, knife, or axe. Unbeknownst to him however, the company thugs realized that Jesse had a weakness that they could exploit: his beloved Lipan Apache fiancee Ila, someone who he would readily sacrifice his own life for unconditionally. If they could capture her, they would have a sack of bargaining chips that might finally break the young hardhead's will of steel. For Jesse Struthers, the fight had become more than just a bitter land dispute...
