I am looking to build a custom rifle off a action I recently acquired.
It's a Sauer 90 long action with set trigger.
I want to build an amazing rifle to back up the astonishing heritage of this action.
Goals:
2000 yards
Manageable-ish recoil
Thumbhole stock
It's has to be beautiful front to back but also function well.

A little background on me,
I currently shoot a 700P .308 with Burris black diamond 6x24-50 glass.
Also a FNH Scar 17s
So I have the short range covered and out to 1000-1200 on a good day.

I plan on this rifle taking a few years to build and I have resources of a full blown cnc machine shop so there will be no problem customs building goodies for it beings I can't find much for parts.

I haven't decided on a caliber yet but right now leaning towards 7mm rem mag or rum
I have very limited experience in any caliber larger than .308. Hoping that the experts on the Hide can steer me in the right direction. Any and all ideas comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Like I said all I have is the action so the sky is the limit!! Thank you
Cody

Here is mine.

Carl Gustaf 3000 Sporter, 6.5x55, laminated valnut wood stock. Built on Sauer 80 LA. EAW rail. Factory brake.

Possibly the fastest doubletap boltaction rifle ever made.
