Just picked up a Savage 308 model 10 with McMillan brand new, searched and searched to find one and found one at really good deal. Now need to mount a scope rail and I know I want a 20MOA rail but how do you know what to buy? Plan on putting either a ZEIS or Leopold scope on it. This rifle will be mainly used for local F-Class 4-600 yard at first then out to 800 yards later maybe 1000 once I master the others. Not worried about price too much as I am doing this with the idea of "buy once, cry once" sort of plan.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

Both weaver and EGW make 20MOA one piece bases for the savage.
I have a couple of the weavers, very well made and only 40 bucks or so.

Nightforce makes a 20MOA base for the Savage. Don't think you'll get anything better than that.

I was really surprised, but the Weaver Tactical 20MOA rail is an outstanding value. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and the price can't be beat!!
Rings are a different story. You get what you pay for, and you will pay for what you get... go Seekins!!

Weaver Tactical bases are excellent, like others said (Weaver standard ones suck). The Blackhawk bases that someone mentioned are rebranded Weaver Tacticals. EGW bases are also quite good. As for rings, I wouldn't go any cheaper than TPS or Seekins rings. I'm a TPS fan, myself. They have a lower profile look than the Seekins rings, which I like.

I just went with a Warne base and Seekins rings.
