OK,

Today is getting better by the moment. I've installed my Savrat Rifle Basix trigger and now, when the barreled receiver is installed into the stock, the spring that the safety mechenism presses on is getting hung up on the stock.

Can someone take a picture of their side of the accutrigger or offer any advise? Are all three pins that make up the assembly the same?

Re: Savage 93 cant take safety off

the bottom is not an accutrigger, but a "regular" one, it only had 2 pins to remove "the guts" and both were the same size and length. i didn't have to remove the pin for the saftey lever to remove the guts.

if the spring and the safety lever look the same as below, i'd check to make sure that the lever is on the lobe of the spring correctly, maybe even squeeze the spring a little to help it along with the compression.

i don't know how it compares to the accutrigger of if it'll help.

unless someone else has input on how to fix it, perhaps a little sanding of the inside of the stock to give the spring more room.

those rifle basix are usually an easy no fitting required install. and the RAT stands for "rimfire accu trigger" so it should fit with no problems. one more thing to check that the part of the lever that blocks the the internal parts from firing. if it's not riding or lined up with those internals correctly, it'll lock up the whole trigger group, including the saftey.

does it work without being in the stock?

Re: Savage 93 cant take safety off

I THINK I figured out what happened. I may have forcefully uncompressed the safety spring that loops around all of the pins, thus causing it to point downward near the top where it does that backwards 'S' shape.

Got it in and everything looks good, however I'm waiting for the wife and kids to go to bed before I play with it on the floor to do final trigger adjustments.
