Savage 93/MK II Actions

Are the actions the same between the two models ?.... Can a MK II action drop into a Stock that is inletted for a 93 action ??

The main difference I've noticed is the ejection port size. 93's are for the .17hmr and mkii is for the .22lr. However the new production rimfires are all 93 actions. The spacing for the scope mount holes is the same, but I do not know about the pillars.

While looking fr scope base for my mark 2 it lists a different size ejection port for the models as well

Yeah I ask because Boyds Stocks has theres listed 93/MKII like its the same but Richards stocks has them listed separately.

The E receiver came out in 2008 ... call Savage w/ your serial number and they can tell you pre-E or E. The pre-E 22wmr/17hmr had different actions than the 22lr/17hm2 rifles...

A pre-E 22wmr action fits nicely into a E stock from boyds - just gotta sand out the first few inches of barrel channel.
