I have a savage model 93 .17 hmr with the regular blued barrel. I was wondering if it is possible to convert to a heavy barrel for improved accuracy. Also, I would like to change to the tacticool aftermarket stock. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
While you can switch the barrel to a bull barrel the cost is going to be very high for switching. Your best bet is to call savages customer service and ask them if they will do it for you and how much it would be. If they will not do it your looking at buying the barrel from them (or used if you can find one) and having a local gun smith install it. It will need to be installed by a smith because the barrel is pinned and the head space for your bolt will need to be matched. Depending on how much your local gun smith charges will be what you have to pay.
Thanks for your help. Are there any other tactical style stocks available for my rifle? Or a write up about building one? I've.searched for a write up but have not found much.

Your welcome.
There are only a few tactical stocks for the savage. The boyds, the Manners and one by PDC. Search for those in the rimfire section and you should come up with some answers.
