Savage Axis II Precision 30-06!

Don’t know why I need or want this rifle but I do. And in 30/06. Any feedback or reviews on the Axis II precision? I love the chasis!

The Axis platform has almost no aftermarket support, a bolt handle that is shit, an even shittier firing pin setup, and the smoothness of a baseball bat in a barrel of coconuts. If you like the Oryx chassis so much then buy one and put a better action in it...

My brother sold me a Sav 110E 30-06 for $75 in 1985.
I have put a custom 280AI barrel, Timney trigger, ground recoil lug, etc. on it.

I have told myself I will never work on a Savage 110 again, but this week I am just restocking it with a wood stock.
But the bolt release interferes with a 3/8" outside diameter pillar. Everywhere I turn the design is a problem.
