Rifles will not feed from magazine in short action models. Mounted all accessories to go to the range and could not load the first round out of the magazine. Bolt pushes first round to 12'oclock above the chamber, MDT Can't give a straight answer and Savage doesn't have a clue. Rifle back at factory for a week and have not received any acknowledgement that they have even received it yet. Going to be a Nightmare for Savage and all of you who bought a short action. They don't use a mag to test fire. They put one round in the chamber to test fire. Either the mag latch is mounted too low or the front bolt baffle is too long.
This will be my last purchase from Savage !!!

The feed ramp is probably not cut for mag feeding if I had too guess

Huskydriver, Thanks but if I started polishing the feed ramp it would void any warranty so I just sent it back to the factory. They have supposedly liked that calf over again and it is on its way home. I hope !
