Hey everybody ! Question for y'all, I have a savage mk 2 .22lr target rifle and I have been having problems with the rifle not firing higher quality ammo, and even sometimes cheaper ammo. I am sure that the firing pin spring is weak. But where can I find new parts or aftermarket parts? ALSO has anybody experience with Savagegunsmithing.com they appear good and having the barrel and chamber lapped might be a good investment. What's your guys opinion ?

To find the best info on tuning this rifle go to rimfirecentral.com they have a savage tacky for issues like this I have tuned my savage 93 BVTS in .17HMR I polished the bearing surfaces on myfire pin and many other areas to work on makes it smooth as well.

Thanks ! I actually called a savage specialist in Idaho and he said that its almost always a head spacing issue. I thinking of sending my rifle to him and let him go over the entire thing and do an "accurizing" type package.

If you can afford to send away to have some custom work then great. I do not think it is needed unless you have seen damaged shells that would show a head space issue i doubt this is an issue. Do you have any fired cases you can show us?
