This question is for all (or anyone) who own or have owned a Savage Mark II BV or similar model. I received mine last December and haven't even pulled it out of the box to use yet due to an issue I noticed right away on the bolt.
Here's some pictures of the bolt:

Due to personal and family reasons along with some admitted sloth, I haven't addressed this other than to send an email with these pictures to Savage customer service. With no response yet from them after a few weeks, I thought that perhaps I would ask you who have Mark II shooters whether your bolt looked like this when you received it. This does not look normal too me.
Of specific concern is the area where the sear engages (I think that's correct) right next to the serial number. Note what looks like a raised/damaged area there. I believe that it should look clean and crisp there, not bent up as if damaged.
BTW, this was a brand new in box un-fired rifle purchased from a hide member. I have not addressed it with him as he was just the dealer and this should be a Savage issue IMO.
If necessary or better placed, I can re-post this in the gunsmithing section, but I thought I'd solicit some opinions first.
Also, before anyone piles on my post, I am not bashing Savage nor anyone and am only looking for guidance as to whether this should be pursued further with Savage customer service. If that is the case, they want me to send in the whole rifle, which seems like overkill to me.
Thanks in advance for your valued input.
