A buddy of mine sold me a Mark II F this morning that I really didn't need, but he needed the money so I bought it from him.
On Tuesday I purchased 2 of the NEW model Mark II F rifles with the Accutrigger, and I have no complaints with those rifles.
It's the older model Mark II F that I bought from my buddy that I'm having the problem with. The trigger is really heavy and is sloppy as a trigger can be. The trigger literally wobbles very slightly from side to side, and, at a guess, the weight is a very 'crunchy' break at around 7 pounds!
Next, the action is sloppy on this rifle as well. There are very small burrs on the underside of the bolt body, and there is nothing smooth about the action at all. Could I use a fine lapping compound to work the bolt in, or maybe use an 800 grit sandpaper to work out the burrs?
What can be done to this older Mark II to clean up the trigger & the action?
I really don't want to put an $80 trigger on a rifle that I paid $75 for!
