Has probably been asked before but am curious if anyone has a procedure for determining the most accurate action screw torque. Savage Mark ii in a Mcrees Precision chassis. Factory spec is 15 in/lbs on the rifle. Should I start at 15 in/lbs and work up incrementally on both screws or has anyone found that a sweet spot exists with different torque values between the 2 screws? Just looking for a method that doesn't involve a brick of ammo and triggering my ocd.

I am not impressed w/ these results FOR THE RECORD!! Lol less than ideal conditions with absolute garbage lot of CCI SV....
THAT said, this is I'm sure not the only way to do it but is A way. I chose to contact CZ USA and ask for the CZ455 PT torque specs. From there, I put together a system incrementally stepping up every 5in/lbs. I staggared just in case the front pillar bed did like more torque and the non pillared rear preferred less. If you look at the numbers to the left of each row, you will see the front/rear torque settings. I fired three 5-shot groups of each torque application. I plan on doing this again with SK Rifle match this spring in ideal wind/weather conditions. Cheers
