This winter has prompted a few new projects and here's the latest. I just had to make a jig for the Savage rimfire bolts and it actually worked out pretty well.

Damn, might fine job! been looking at the clamp on and I think it just wouldn't be worth a damn. Gonna have to pony up the funds.

Looks good! Can you reduce the OD of a TR bolt knob and thread it to 5/16 x 24 so that it would fit one of Bill's Round Steel Bolt Knobs?

Awesome work again Mike. I have seen and used one of Mike's bolt knobs on a centerfire and I can't say enough good things about them. Top notch machine work. You will have a couple bolts in the mail soon Mike.

The jig happens to work for a couple of other bolts, so it's not completely dedicated to Savage rimfires.

The problem I ran into with just unscrewing the handle is how to hold it straight for threading as there really isn't a straight section on the handle. Obviously you can't just chuck it up, so a jig would almost be a necessity whether the bolt was assembled or not. I wouldn't mind seeing pics of other solutions to this one if anyone else has some ideas.
