I picked up an old Savage model 4C that wouldn't fire. I got the gun to fire but now it won't extract the spent case. I pulled the extractors out and the one side is bent so it's not catching the rim of the case right. The problem I'm running in to is finding replacement parts for this gun! Does anyone know where I might be able to find replacement parts?

Thanks.

Re: Savage model 4C parts

I didn't know about Numrich. I ordered the parts that I needed and hopefully that will fix my problem.

Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction!

Can anyone tell me anything about the Model 4C?

Re: Savage model 4C parts

Numrich is a long standing provider of mostly used gun parts. They are, however, at the mercy of the people who will sell the old guns or old unused parts. Occasionally manufacturers will sell off over runs or new parts. They also have a fairly extensive list of exploded drawings the you can print, or buy if you want a clearer copy, which in the absence of take down instructions will at least show parts orientation. Jack First is another good resource but you have to call them, the number is on their web site. I don't know too much about that particular model but your problem is fairly common in firearms with dual extractors. I've replaced more left hand extractors over the years than right. If you want to assemble a spare parts kit I would recommend a firing pin and a set of springs, particularly a recoil spring. Not much else usually goes wrong with them other than fouling. Keep the action clean and it will shoot for a long time.

Re: Savage model 4C parts

Well I received most of my parts. The shipping paper that was in the package marked that all the parts shipped but I'm missing one extractor. I guess someone forgot to put it in the pack before it shipped! I sent them an email asking what I need to do to get the other extractor that I ordered and paid for! I'll give them a day or two and then I will call.
