not to answer for him, but all scar heavies like 168gr SMKs and 175gr SMKs.
most commonly cited is Federal GMM, but some also report excellent results from Black Hills and other factory offerings using the same pills.
i would guess that FGMM is the statistical favorite because it is also the most commonly tested and used.
the 1:12 twist limits the choices of bullets that are spin stable, but luckily what works best is also one of the easiest to find.

That rifle was being used as department team rifle so ammo was limited to fgmm for use.

Ok, thats great for a semi auto chrome lined rifle. Did you try anything else that did well or ever reload?

as far as match ammo, i've only shot 168 and 175gr FGMM.
i have no delusions of grandeur as far as my own shooting, but even i was able to shoot a 5 shot group under an inch when i was sighting it in (or confirming zero) not long ago when i got a chance to go to a real range.

i am not a competitive shooter (more of a zombie killer) so i decided to put my trust in the 100s of thousands of rounds shot by those with more experience that came before me, like this hide member.
