Scope and rings for Vudoo 360

I finally talked myself into ordering a vudoo 360, ive got a few weeks to wait so im trying to figure out what I want for a scope and rings/mount i want. I'm thinking of going with the Zero compromise 5-27x56 for a scope. I ordered a 20-moa base on the vudoo. What spuhr mount or ARC rings would i need? im planning on shooting NRL22 and maybe some other ELR matches.

I think you may need to go with a Spuhr mount to get a little more angle than the 20 moa as ordered.
Not sure how the 1000yds comes into play but if you do some outlaw rimfire matches at 400yds + you will be dialing like your .308 at 1000 hence the need for more moa.
Lots more opportunities for rimfire competition showing up in Ga, enjoy.

You said ELR matches... so that's why I recommended the capabilities of the ZCO which is about 60moa base.

You'll be fine shooting 300 yds.

I run a 30MOA base and zero on MPA bolt mount on my Vudoo. Running a Mark 5 5-25 Im good for a little over 400yds. Good enough for me.

Call and tell them to put a 40 moa on it. Not that hard to change. If you are sticking with the ZCO then I'd get the ARC M Brace. You can add MOA is you wanted also even if you didn't want to call and have them change the base.

Also if you do plan to do ELR with it you might want to look at the Zeiss LRP S3 4-25 as it has 45 mils/160 moa of elevation. In shooting long with a .22 elevation is more important than the glass as you will be able to see the targets just fine with any decent glass and the Zeiss has better than decent glass. Will also save you about $2000 to buy ammo

I am ordering a a V22 360 with the 30 moa rail and I am going to put the ERA-Tac 0-70 moa adjustable mount on it. As for the glass I am thinking Zeiss LRP S3 6-36x56 32 mils of travel with parallax goes down to about 11 yards.

I'll be throwing a Zeiss 6-36 on my Vudoo also. More than enough elevation for matches.

Yeah I had just saw the NRL 22 matches at Pinetucky, that’s only a 30-45 min ride so that’s probably a good place to start.

Hard to beat a ZCO on a rimfire (or any gun for that matter). Ive owned them all and settled on a 5-27. The 4-20 would be a good option too with the bigger fov. I would stay away from the 8-40 due to having less elevation travel.

The ZCO is an excellent scope with great glass but I was just not wanting you to think you had to spend $4000 for a rimfire optic. If you have that disposable income and want it then get it but I am more of a budget minded shooter. The ZCO won't win you a match anymore than a less expensive scope so don't want you to think that also. I have used $700-3000 scopes on my Vudoos and have won matches with all of them. In rimfire being able to see to 400 yards is not hard. Important to have good tracking and enough elevation as well as a good reticle. I mentioned the Zeiss 4-25x50 above but the 6-36 would work too. A ton of good options out there now so just take a look around if you were stretching the budget to get the ZCO.

Yeh I like me the solid Vortex Strike Eagle for the budget minded.

My thinking on this was if I’m gonna spend $3500 on a gun then it deserves some nice glass. ZCO just came up more when I was researching than most other brands. I’m open to any suggestions.

Sounds like you want a ZCO so get one as anything else you get you will feel like you missed out on something.

Never compromise on getting "what I can afford now", you'll just end up longing for what you wanted all along...then spending the money on it later, which put you in a hole from the start.

I never thought I'd be able to justify (to myself) the cost of a Vudoo...but here we are, and I couldn't be happier.

I have 2 ZCOs, a Strike Eagle, an AMG, went through a Kahles DLR, and a Leupold 7-35.

I like the ZCOs reticle... the MPCT3X the most.

I dislike the 15mils per revolution on the turret because my vision is getting worse and it's harder to see the little hashes.

I like the thicker reticle lines in the ZCO because of the bad vision. Kahles DLR I had to be at nearly 18x to see the hashmarks. I can see the .2 hash marks at 12x on the ZCO.

I sometimes wish the ZCO did something like a 7-35 to get more magnification. The 8-40 would have been great if they didn't make everything else worse about the scope (larger, less travel, worse eye box).

The Leupold 7-35 PR2 reticle I like... except it was too thin and needed to be cranked up to 18x to see hashes comfortably. Also minimum parallax was like 50 or 75 which sucked on the 25 yd tiny targets.

If it's an infinite budget, which I kinda used to have, I chose the ZCO for what I liked most. I actually am probably going to drop another 4K on the ZCO with the 10mils per rev turrets this summer.

The other major purchase I want to do and am waiting for is Swarovski NL Pure Range Finder whenever they decide to make it... going from my Sig 3K binos to the Swaro binos is literally night and day...

When you get to about the $2000 mark you start getting a much smaller return for the extra money. You can spend twice as much and not gain twice as much in performance. I’m running a $1500 scope on my Vudoo now and it works great. No issues seeing targets at matches and plenty of elevation and a great reticle. I am going to be trying the Zeiss soon because I like to try different optics. Not because I think it will be any huge advantage over what I run now.

And again if you have a hard on for ZCO and nothing else will make you happy then get it. It’s a very nice optic. Your money to spend.

I've got an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56 on my Vudoo. Can't get one for that price new anymore. It's a nice scope, I have little desire to spend $3-5K on a scope for it now. As @Rob01 stated, you don't get double the glass for double the money after a certain price point.

$950 - I'd get an Athlon Ares ETR

I'd probably use that all the way until $2400 and get an Zeiss S3 6-36.

I had a Tract Toric and a Cronus and I found the ETR to perform nearly as well.
