Just wondering how good the vortex defender scope caps are. I just ordered a set for my gen 2 razor 4.5-27/56. i only ask cause some of the reviews said they dont fit tight or some are to tight. also got a anarchy outdoors throw lever. If any of yall have any experience using either of these let me know. ✌

The caps are gtg I have a couple of sets, 1 on a gen 2 Razor and another set on a Kahles 3-18

Each size is made to fit a range of lens sizes. So they could fit on the looser or tighter side, or just right which probably explains the range of reviews. My ocular lens cap fits just about perfect, while my objective lens cap is about as tight as could be. Works just fine on both though and they appear to be well made. If I could change something though I wish they’d size them for a slightly smaller range to avoid the variance in tightness.

The ones that were on my AMG we're pretty decent nothing to really write home about but better than Butler Creek by far.

Tenebraex just seems overpriced for caps to me.

They are definitely not cheap, but they are pretty bomb proof and worth the extra money in my eyes to protect my investment in a gen2 razor. I’ve run butler creeks on other scopes and had then flip cap snap off due to getting brittle in the cold when I opened them.

I wont buy butler creek for the same reasons as you. I was looking at the Tenebraex but just couldnt drop the coin. Aadland was nice too but pricey. If the vortex dont work ill go with tenebraex

Im a big believer that there are a lot of things in the gun world that are ridiculously over-priced But Tenebraex lens covers are a bargain no joke they absolutely worth it .

The throw lever i got from anarchy outdoors has a little thicker handle from the picture i saw. Thats the only reason i went with it.

Tenebraex just seems overpriced for caps to me.

I went all out on Tenebraex, primarily because 1) they made them for a few scopes I have 2) in stock. HOWEVER, I'm quite disappointed in their fit on my 3-12x Bushnell and overall I feel their quality is unequivocally not worth their premium. Next time, I'll go with AADMOUNT and buy only 1 set. I'd read so much good stuff on Tenebraex that I thought it'd be the way to go.

Issues for me:
1) fit not great on the 3-12x bushnell
2) getting "cap" to actually snap into closed position takes more force than it should (my opinion).
3) Unlike the AADMOUNT, there's no "trigger" so to speak to open the cap.

I guess it beats the bikini, though I'm actually not sure - especially for range work. Field work, yes. Maybe I'm a nut I just don't see the rave. Granted, my fault for buying quite a lot of merch from them without actually field testing them for myself.

I wanted to try the AAD but found a deal on the tenebraex stuff

Tenebraex is good, AAD is the best. I’ve had the Vortex and wasn’t impressed. I’ve had multiple Tenebraex and one AAD, this is how I scored it. Have Tenebraex on my ZCO, and wished I had gone AAD.

The Vortex defender caps are good and if one is a little loose just put some elc tape on scope before you put the cap on.

I have both Vortex Defender Caps and a Anarchy Outdoors throw lever on a PST gen 2 Viper. I like them both especially for the $$. Paid about $ 60.00 for all. The lever fits great , looks good too.

My only issue with the Vortex caps is the eyepiece cap latch. If you fully seat it close, it's a real bear to open up. I found it really helps to just seat one side; makes it much easier to open.
