I just bought a used Savage Mark II BTVS based on the good reviews it has as a target rifle.
I am trying to get a scope ordered before my rifle arrives however I can’t decide on a model.
Here are my criteria:
*I want to have the ability to shoot out to 300 yards so I need a scope with high MOA adjustment or a scope and mount combination that will allow for long range MOA adjustments. Additionally, due to the close 50yd range plinking I will need paralax focus as well (i think).
*I want the scope to have either a mil-dot or BDC reticle.
*And i want the scope to be threaded for a sun shade.
I am looking at the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 but at $300 it's about $100 out of my price range. I would like to spend around $200, give or take a little.
Two things you should know, this will be a paper shooter only gun not a varmint killer. And I live in AZ, so I don’t see the brightness of any given optic metering that much to me since it is perpetually sunny here.
