Rifle Scopes scope for lmt 16' 308 mws

I would look at the Vortex PST series. 2.5-10, 4-16, or even the 6-24. All mag ranges com in Moa/Moa or Mil/Mil systems as well as SFP or FFP. Can't go wrong with any of those choices.

We're still running our Griffin Armament Ring promotion so you can get a free set of premium rings with any PST purchase. The 1.4 height rings are perfect for an AR platform.

I recently had to make the same decision and decided on the Vortex PST 2.5-10 ffp mil/mil on top of a Bobro slightly forward qd mount for my LMT. Very nice scope for the money. image.jpg

That would be a very good choice, imo, unless you are going to do running and gunning up close. Then you would want either a lower power or a secondary sight.

Out to 400 yards, you likely don't need for a FFP reticle. If you have a low variable power optic (like 1-4, 1-6 1-8 or 2-10), you are likely to be at your max setting at 400 and can use whatever markings or BDC in the reticle at range. From 200 in, you essentially have a flat trajectory with easy holds at any power if you want more precision. From 200-400, you can learn your holds, or again be on the max setting and use your reticle. Also, with the Leupold, you can get the BDC turret ring.

If your going for speed up close and 400yds your max then I would recommend a 1x to a 1.5x at the lowend and a 4x to 8x at the the top-end. Here are some good scopes to look at.

Leupold 1-6x
Vortex 1-6x.
ELCAN Specter DR 1.5-6x
Bushnell 1-8.5x
USO 1-8x
Leupold 1.1-8x

If your going for groups. Look at scope with a top-end power of 10x or 15x.
Nightforce 2.5-10x32mm or their 3.5-15x50mm
Leupold 3.5-10x or he 4.5-14x50mm mark 4 line
Vortex PST if your not looking to spend as much

Other good brands to look at USO, Steiner, and IOR.

Hope this helps and if we can be of help let us know.

What type of shooting will you be doing? Tactical competitions from 50 yards to 400 yards? Shooting off a bench trying to get tiny groups? Working on your off-hand shooting to improve your hunting accuracy?
What the guys above said is great advice, but if you're shooting for groups, I'd like more than 10 or 15x.

Another to throw into the mix is the IOR 2.5-10x42 with MP8 reticle. Have one on a 20" Grendel that matches up well in proportion, clarity and the reticle is easy to acquire and engage steel to at least 500 meters with accuracy.

I have lusted over this and I think the Brits setup w/ a 6X ACOG for a DMR type rifle makes a beautifully sexay smoove sniper system aka Designated Marksman Rifle.

I would love one but $3500+ for the rifle and $3000 for the 6x ACOG, you are basically OBLIGATED to put an RMR on top there, and matter fact, I would personally be inclined to go Aimpoint Micro because, it has a full picatinny rail, the Micro is extremely small in weight and profile and extremely awesome as a sight, and it makes the 16" barreled MWS from a DMR to a Total Military-style Rifle in my opinion... hard hitting round w/ 1000+ yard potential, amazing optics w/ a lot less guess work than even more expensive scopes with better mag/better setups .. (Just look at shoot). and the Micro would make an amazing CQB setup.

But that is a costly weapon I would never save enough for so it's just a dream.

Ended up going with vortex 1-4x24 PST and i like it. Went with uncapped moa turrents and it did around 1 moa on my lmt 308. I will be using this set up or varmint and nussance pertmits on our farm.

JUST ORDERED THE 4-16X50 PST from Chris at Sports Optic , I get an email 15 min later that it shipped. Outstanding service and at a more then fair price. This will be my go to scope dealer on future scopes. He even said he would make sure the Butler creek flip ups I ordered fit B4 it shipped.
