Hello brothers I really need your help in furnishing my OBR with a high powered scope. It will be used for distances up to 1000 meters. Can my brothers assistance me in getting the correct scope? I have $4000.00 to play with.

OP can you provide some more info? You mention shooting to 1000 but do you ever plan on shooting at shorter ranges? Think you'll ever take it hunting? Do you care about weight? What kind of reticle do you like, std Mil, MOA, dot, hash, Christmas tree, illuminated, etc? With a budget of $4k you can get the best optics out there and you'll appreciate the glass especially at that range. Some people say 12x is enough for 1000 yards but I prefer more magnification. I have a March 3-24 on my LMT MWS beacayse I wanted a compact lightweight scope with good glass that gave me high magnification and I find that even at 100 yds I'm still using 18x and higher. If you don't care about size and weight there are numerous options out there so help us narrow it down.

I would like to thank all of my sniper hide brothers in my quest to find a scope for my LaRue OBR 308. I'm now the proud owner of a Vortex Gen ll HD MRAD 2 scope.

I pick up my tOBR in 7.62 from the FFL today. You read my mind relative to the scope purchase. I have been gong back and forth between the Vortex and the BEAST. Haven't fully decided but the Vortex seems like the best value out there.

Did you get the 3-18x or the 4.5-27x? What mount are you using? I will be using a Spuhr.

Let us know how and why you like it when you try it out.

BR,

Got a Nightforce f1 on mine currently. When i can pony up the extra cash, I'm going to get a Vortex 4.5-27x. Magnification whore. What can I say?

You can say 3 pounds! :D I have a March 3-24 on my LMT LM8 and love it for half the weight :) The new Steiner T5Xi 3-15 or 5-25 is also a very intriguing option now with lower weight and German glass...
