My grandfather has this scope mount and wanted the middle part cut down to lower the scope. Can anybody tell me what this middle part is called and if there is a place to buy smaller ones? It says Leupold on the side but no model numbers. Anybody have any information?

Looks to be a Leupold dual dovetail extension piece. I don't know if these are still made, or if they were ever made and you just have a custom set. I'd assume you could just buy new Dual Dovetail rings at the height you need that fit that base. Or just buy a new setup since I don't recall DD mounts and rings being super expensive.
