Do set up the eye relief from sitting or prone?

My scope is set pretty far forward even with three spacers for stock extension on my Bravo. Very comfortable for shooting from a bench but not from prone. Feel like I have to strain just a little to get in the eye box.

Thoughts?

I usually check it from multiple positions, sitting, prone and standing bringing the rifle into position with my eyes closed then open to see how my point of aim and body position naturally align without a bunch of fidgeting around.
Then make small adjustments from there, it's a bit of compromise if you are not using a fully adjustable stock.

Ok. You can see from pic that scope is all the way forward on the rail (I am 6’-1”). So is it better to move the scope back a little or to take a spacer out. Something needs to change for prone shooting.

What is the current length of pull with all of the spacers in? Many shooters overdo the length of pull, especially if using the rifle for prone and positional shooting.

LOP is about 14”. I probably over do it since tall and used to shotguns.

I am 6'2" and have never had an issue with the standard lengths from 13.5- 14" but everyone is different and it's what feels most comfortable and repeatable that matters.
I really would try getting into position with your eyes closed and get comfortable then open your eyes and look through the optic, I would bet you'll find out your scope is to far forward.

I’d echo what XLR308 offered. I’m 6’-3” and with long arms and neck, (I know you’re thinking turkey-neck, but don’t say it), I need to move the scope and rings forward on the pic rail with the butt stock adjustment moved aft.

Prone vs. alternate shooting positions is forever a compromise.

Guess I will have to play around with it. Probably will shoot for one spacer out and move scope back some too. Adjusting both might be the best solution

Most stocks are 13.25-13.5. Standard Manners or Mcmillan with 1 inch pad is 13.5 thin pad is 13.25. I am a long armed 6ft and 14" is long, I set one up at 14" once thinking I needed it. I was about to ask how tall he was because that LOP looked long. If it fits, it fits. Its just the same trail we all go down as we figure out what fits us best. If you don't like where something is, move it.

That sounds about right I just threw that figure out there based on memory, my rememberer is still operating on version 2.0 so may need refreshed occasionally. ?

One reason I went with a chassis with a telescoping stock tube when I changed out (vs the Manners I was thinking of, actually). I cannot find a scope location that is totally good for all positions, so just change the LOP when changing positions.

Even my carbines are set this way, with their much more forgiving RDS+magnifier. Short most of the time, run them all the way out if I get to prone or similar braced-leaning positions.
