I'm in the process of mounting a scope in a Larue SPR Mount for a AR and I plan on finishing my Tacticial Build .308 and will be mounting a scope in a set of Seekin or Badger Rings in the next couple of months. I've always just wiped the whole mounting surfaces down placed a small amount of Breakfee then just placed the scope in the rings. Of course I would torque the rings to the required specs but do you need to sand the inside surface of the rings? I was watching a you tube video and it looks like Wheeler makes a drum cylinder kit that you apply a rubbing compound to to take the rough edges off of the rings. Is this neccessary?
Thanks, I've always been into hunting and shooting but kind of a new member on the hide. I apreciate any suggestions.
