Guys,

I bought the little woman a Ruger 10/22 Take Down for Xmas, and I would like to put a nice compact scope on it. I emailed Volquartzen, and they don't make a mount that will work. I seen the Midwest Industries rail mount, anyone have any experience with scope mounting the take down? Thanks, JPG

Unless that barrel clocks in exactly perfect every time the zero will be off.

Unbarrel it alot...and tolerances with likely open up (wear on threads).</div></div>

Last time I checked, there are no threads on this take down system. Get your facts strait before you crap on someones thread.

I'm not supprised in the least as to what this guy looks like. I never asked anyone about the return to zero, or if the threads will wear causing zero shifts. I just get some shit for brains telling me my 10/22 Take Down is shit. Well, here you go, asshole. You look exactly like you come off. Douch bag of the year!

Hey calm your boner he has a point. Why need a scope rail when your scope wont be zeroed every time you take it apart? Its pointless. I know for a fact it wont be the same every time you take it apart.

Re: Scope Rail for the 10/22 take down

To me, the idea of the 10/22 take down is handy, but if I owned one I would probably not even scope it. I have a standard 10/22 with a Nikon 4 x 32 scope on it, and for the accuracy of the rifle and caliber, I feel that is good enough.

To answer the OP, I really don't know about rails for that rifle. The regular 10/22 comes with one, but I take it that does not?

I bought the rifle for my wife to shoot, she does pretty good with her scoped AR. Trying to keep some 5.56 around, cause she'll shoot it all up! Just a cool little rifle. I ordered a TacSol rail for it cause the factory one I can bend with finger preasure. I made no claims of the rifles accuracy, or even repeatibility. I'm not going behind enemy lines and smoke checking someone with the damn thing! I will say my longest confirmed on a Bend, Oregon Peg Squirel is 165 yards with my Volquartsen 10/22 Target. Thanks for the tip on the scope mount, I'll keep everyone updated with a test of if this rifle holds zero or not. JPG

Nice little Rifle. A friend has one and can carry it on his motorcycle. Yes it is true that a scope won't hold zero if it is taken down and put back together. It's not a mile off. But that's probably subject to change as it wears.

Leave it assembled and it's a non issue.

Regards

Bill
