I actually have the same question as well. I have a Leupold mk4 and like he said, is it "better" to go with the Leupold rings or with something like Badger base & rings? Keeping in mind that inexpensive is not necessilarily the issue but what is better.

Re: scope rings advice

I don't think rings and bases matter as long as you get quality on both. I don't like the idea of the dovetail style rings. Nothing wrong with them and I know people who love them, but just can
to get used to the idea of everything on a little pin thing. just old school I guess.

I like the Mk 4 rings. For me I was using the weaver bases I already had and wanted Burris Tactical rings, but due to fitment issues needed narrower rings. It was either TPS or Leupold Mk4 rings for me. I got my TPS's from Tacticalprecision.com and they get 5stars from me. they called me after hours to make sure they got my order right and make sure I was happy.

Re: scope rings advice

i have TPS TSR rings and EGW Base on my remy, and have had absolutley no problem. you get out the door at about 120 for the set, about the same price as most rings are alone, so i highly recomend them.
