Going back and forth between rings and 1 piece also between ARC and 419. With my scope in hand and the receiver I did some math based on Paramount tactical's video about choosing correct height.

Objective diameter w/flip cap installed: 2.5"/2 = 1.25

Picatinny rail height .25"

1.25-.25= 1.00" + .20" = 1.20"

Both ARC and 419 off their rings and 1 piece mounts in 1.26" which should be just about right.

I wanted to run these numbers before spending 200 - 330 $ and having to deal with returns.

The rail is 0 moa and everything will be sitting in a KRG Bravo chassis

Scope is an Ares ETR G2 34mm and 56mm obj for reference.

First time mounting a scope of this size (only experience is with lpvo on AR and prism sights with their own mounts)

Thanks for taking a peek.

I have no idea where that "math" came from...especially the "+ .20"

But if you are looking at ARC rings, why not take the easy way and use the method they document on their site....and yes, the height found via this method can be used to determine which height rings for other brands also. Its not restricted to ARC.

Since you are using a KRG Bravo which has an adjustable cheek riser, why on earth are you trying to get the ring height so low? Go look at the KRG Bravo page on KRG’s website.

No need to use a low ring height that will prevent you from establishing a good upright head position when shooting prone.

There are lots of threads dealing with this on this site. The majority of shooters today use 1.54” ring heights. Has nothing to do with the type of rifle or the rail. Some of us are experimenting with even taller setups. If you were using a chassis with no cheek riser adjustment, you need to go low and your math works. However, that results in a poor head position. You’re not in that position.

YMMV

Not trying to get it low, from the information I found on Paramount Tacticals video (youtube channel), I should be getting .26" clearance or gap and didnt think that was all that low. The 1.50" height mount/rings I assumed were more for something with a rail say on a gas gun. Anyhow first time trying to sort this all out on a chassis. Not opposed to going higher, trying to find what may work best on here before purchasing. If I do go 419 though, I may be waiting a while. They seem to not stay in stock for long.

You can certainly continue on that path, but you should also read some of the threads like this one
