For my long rifles I use (without exception) Night Force scopes with a Mildot reticle. I have learned that the replacement scope being offered to my unit is a Schmidt and Bender scope and I am unsure of the reticle. I have also learned that it is a first focal plane scope which is a mistake I believe and will probably have agreement from anyone who has had to lead and adjust for wind on a closer fast moving target. Anyone with experience with a Schmidt and Bender I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Please limit responses to Special Operations/Marine/Experienced military snipers.
I am also looking for a weapon sling that splits into a backpack for quick raid operations. I am familiar with the eberelstock and similar configurations and I am uninterested in these. I want to have the functionality of a sling and be able to wear it hands free so that I can manipulate another weapon. I have looked at the Accuracy International biathlon sling and the Vero Vellini backpack sling. Any serious suggestions from the above mentioned personnel would be greatly appreciated.
