Rifle Scopes Scopes for 16 inch Recce, 18 inch SPR, 16 inch EMC

Okay what are your thoughts on outfitting these Rifles. Here is what I am looking at.

16 inch EMC SB 1-8 or 1-8 Leupold.

16 inch Recce rifle 5.56 1-4 something NF, SS, SB, 1-6 Swaro. Heard that Leupold is coming out with a 1-6 optic as well. currently has Leupold mk 4 1.5-5x24 w SPR reticle

18 inch SPR Mk 12 Mod O, 1-8 SB, Leupold, NF 2.5x10 wish this was ffp, currently has Leupold 1.5-5x24 w SPR reticle

I like having the same type of scope, on these guns with the same reticle. I have been waiting to replace the ones I have on top till the 1-8 shoot out is complete. For the 5.56 rifles, I like the small size of the Leupold MK4, but the 1.5 on the low end is not low enough and the 5 is not high enough for what I want.

I had a 1.5-5 Leupy on the EMC. I tried several optics, but was never completely satisfied. Didn't have the coin for one of various 1-8 scopes. Looking back, I should have went with a 2.5-10 FFP.

I personally, would go with 2.5-10 main dish, with a FFP flavor, in you choice of mount for dessert.... For each of those rifles.

Who makes a 2.5 to 10 FFP scope?

Since you listed it,

EMC = S&B 1-8x,
Recce - NF 1-4x or SS or I like Elcan.
SPR - Leupold 1-8x

I always avoid IOR, your mileage may vary

It's only money, not like you can take it with you.

Plus not like you paid rock bottom prices on the EMC.

That is true about the EMC, but thats why its still in safe with no glass on it. That and you actually have to be home in the US to shoot your own guns.

I run an older NF 2.5-10x24 (mil dot) on my 18 upper, I personally think its the best scope I have. It might be sfp but as a civie, its all I think that's necessary (imho). Its versatile, reliable and doesn't the job every time.

I wish I had your money to spend...

For 2.5-10 scopes I like the IOR FFP, Super Sniper, Leupold M3 and Nightforce. 1.5-5 leupold, didn't like it, my PST 1-4 was a better scope. Super Sniper 1-4 w/donut on paper looks the best to me.

Never used a 1-8, I like the concept but I haven't seen one with a reticle that I really like.
