Back on topic. A LPVO under $2k, and not made in China. the biggest requirement for me is to get to true 1x. that, by the way, has proved to be difficult for most. While I love Leupold, I am pretty sure you cannot hit true 1x under $2k.
1) Vortex HD-E Gen2 1-6x is a solid scope, and great eyebox, for two-eye open shooting, and then moves up to 6x.
2) Nightforece NX8 1-8x. Ligther weight, withstands droping and running it over. Solid scope, but less eyebox, so more of a standard scope, but gets you to 8x.
3) Vortex HD Gen3 1-10x, one of the more popular scsopes for 2020. I little on the higher magnifcation than typical LPVO, and heavy. Outstanding value and gets to the top end of your budget. Hardest part is findind one or waiting for one. All great reveiws.
4) Steiner P4xi. Outstanding small scope, but only gets you to 4x. Extremely popular, and hard to find.
5) Steiner T5xi. Also a great scope. Gets very little attention, as they came out with at 6x, and this is 1-5x.
Burris has a model, and they have generally been good, but I have not used the newer lower power model. I liked thier previous generation. You said budget was not option. If it were, I would also look at Vortex PST 1-6x and 1-8x. Pretty decent offering, and priced well. I think this one is from the Phillipines. I would have to check. The better Vortex scopes are from Japan. Next in line are Phillipines, in my opinion.
