So I just finished my IRA-X build and have shot about 40 rounds through it, however I noticed on the brass, and bullet that there was a slight amount of scoring from chambering the round. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the bottom portion of the barrel was milled down so as that the bullet could feed smoothly into the chamber from the magazine, however the lug between the two milled portions had become sharp from the milling and I assume this is where the scoring is coming from.
My question is would it be unwise to file the sharp lug down slightly, so that it is not sharp. I assume this is going to happen anyways from use, but I would like to speed up the proses. Thoughts?
Also I am finding that my IRA-X is especially hard on my brass in general aside from the scoring. Is this typical for AR style rifles? I have some AR-15's but have never reloaded, so I have never looked at the brass closely.
Here are some pics of my build
These are before i mounted the Scope, Gas Block, and compensator FYI
