SEAL Team 6 by Harold Wasdin

I've been listening to this audio book in my car (yea no time for real reading anymore) and it's damn good. Wasdin was a sniper in team six. It's well told and very descriptive. Seals are really an impressive set of warriors.

If you guys have a lot of time in the car, I'd recommend downloading this from Itunes.

Nice, I just picked this book yesterday in Costco...Already half way through it. If you guys like this and haven't read <span style="text-decoration: underline">Lone Survivor</span>, I suggest you buy that book yesterday. Those SEALS are superheroes!!!

I'm about half way thru the book, I like that he doesn't come off as some super macho angel of god.

I read it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The situations he manages to come through boggled my mind! I also cracked up with the buck in the cafeteria scene!

I have heard mixed reviews about the book... I will probably buy it but I have heard that he just sits around talking about how badass he is and blah blah and it was just rushed to press to make money off the whole Bin laden thing,.. I know he is a badass but I like to read more about the mission like <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Lone Survival</span></span> which was one of the best books I have read in a long time!

Doug, if you like detail, have you read Black Hawk Down? Its an excellent play by play of both sides by a very detail oriented author. I was quite moved by the detailed efforts provided by the PJ’s. Definitely a must read.

I read it also. Pretty decent read. Not on par with BHD or Lone Survivor, but still good.

Lone Survivor-When Marcus was telling of the fight they were in and giving GOD credit for the things that were happening such as his rifle falling down the mountain side and keeping its zero, the effect on me was so powerful I could only read a page or two at a time. This almost had the effect of being on that mt. and smelling the smoke. Did you know after he came home some drunk fools killed his dog who had been with him through rehab? They should count themselves very lucky the cops got them first. When I get the book back I think it will have a permanent place in my gun room.

You forgot "Dr Harold Wasdin". I listened to a 2 hour interview on Coast to Coast with him. He sounded pretty real to me. He went thru some real sh-t and lost several good friends. One thing he pointed out was we had it won in Mogadishu but the politicians got involved and we had armour sitting in Germany that was never delivered. One critism was he didn't talk much in the 1st person but maybe that's his style or how he handled it.

I know it doesnt compare but watching the movie was tough... to see what happened there really sucked. I am going to get the book tonight when I get home. Thanks for the suggestion!

I read it about a month ago and found it to be a decent read but certainly not as good as "Lone Survivor".

Ok I finished it and it's pretty exciting up until he gets out of the hospital. Glad to hear he came out ok.
